Yet according to the CDC every year, over 30,000 Americans die in car crashes – every year. Now that’s a disaster and a tragedy. Perhaps even sadder is that while there are numerous initiatives in place, drivers seem to be ‘their own worst enemies’. How Anti-lock Braking System Work and Supporter Devices
Anti-lock braking system (ABS) is a braking system on the car to avoid locking the wheels when braking suddenly occurs. This system works when braking hard on a car going so some or all of the wheels stop while the car was still moving, making the vehicle uncontrollable at all. When the sensor detects a wheel locking, ABS will be ordered to reduce the pressure piston, and then harden it back so the wheels spin. The process went very quickly, can reach 15 times / sec. The effect is that the car remains under control and more effective braking distances.
